Job summary

Wuthathi Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (WAC) is seeking a motivated Youth Engagement and Cultural Heritage Coordinator to lead the Junior Custodian Program and broader cultural heritage initiatives. You will collaborate with Elders, Traditional Custodians, families and schools to deliver culturally appropriate activities that strengthen young people’s connection to culture and Country.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in youth work or education within Indigenous communities.
• Strong program coordination experience, planning, delivering and evaluating community initiatives.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage logistics and deadlines.
• Outstanding communication and relationship-building abilities with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong administrative and reporting skills, including record keeping and monitoring outcomes.
• Initiative, problem-solving, and ability to work independently.
• Respectful, culturally sensitive approach and ability to work under Elders/Traditional Custodians.
• Commitment to child safety and workplace health and safety, including safe activity planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of the Wuthathi Junior Custodian Program with learning plans and youth activities.
• Coordinate on-Country camps, cultural workshops, education activities and community events including logistics and safety.
• Lead cultural heritage projects, coordinate the Wuthathi Seasonal Calendar and intergenerational knowledge transfer.
• Support re-establishment of the Wuthathi Womens Committee to strengthen women's leadership.
• Build partnerships with Elders, families, schools and training providers to support youth development.
• Ensure programs align with Wuthathi Board and Traditional Custodians’ directions.
• Manage program budgets, schedules, resources, risks, funding requirements, reporting.
• Identify funding opportunities and support program sustainability.
• Coordinate and support staff and participants with child safety and WHS compliance.
