Job summary

SMEC is seeking Combined Services Route (CSR) Engineers to join our rail team across Australia. You will lead CSR delivery on multidisciplinary rail projects in Sydney, Brisbane, or Melbourne, ensuring design development meets standards.

Ideal candidates bring deep CSR rail engineering knowledge, experience with 3D BIM modelling (12D, Civil 3D, Navisworks), strong communication skills, and familiarity with Safety in Design and rail operations. We offer a flexible, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in CSR rail design and related standards.
• 3D BIM modelling experience using industry tools (12D/Civil 3D/Navisworks).
• Strong communication to lead CSR packages and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team.
• Familiar with Safety in Design and rail infrastructure operations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that design development meets relevant technical standards and client/SMEC requirements.
• Collaborate with disciplines, project manager, client and stakeholders to deliver high-quality design.
• Apply project management principles to complete tasks on time and within scope.
