Job summary

Peoplebank is supporting a Federal Government client in Canberra with a Cyber Security Engineer (Cryptography & Key Management) role onsite. The position focuses on designing, integrating and sustaining enterprise cryptographic services and PKI capabilities.

You will work with a multidisciplinary cyber security team to implement encryption technologies, manage HSM platforms, and ensure security controls align with government frameworks.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as a Security Engineer, Cryptography Engineer, PKI Engineer or similar role.
• Strong understanding of cryptographic principles, encryption technologies and secure communications.
• Experience with PKI, certificate authorities and certificate lifecycle management.
• Experience with Key Management Systems (KMS) and Hardware Security Modules (HSM).
• Knowledge of security hardening, vulnerability management and security-by-design principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and support enterprise cryptographic services and key management capabilities.
• Administer and support PKI environments and certificate lifecycle management.
• Configure encryption technologies to protect data at rest and in transit.
• Support HSM platforms and associated cryptographic services.
• Integrate cryptographic capabilities with enterprise apps, cloud platforms and infra services.
• Implement security controls aligned to government frameworks and standards.
• Conduct security assessments, risk analysis and remediation activities.
• Develop technical documentation, procedures and support artefacts.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers and stakeholders to deliver secure outcomes.
• Support incident investigations and system monitoring.
