Job summary
St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney is seeking an experienced Critical Care Outreach Nurse to join the new Critical Care Outreach Nursing Team. The role supports advanced assessment and management of acutely deteriorating patients and works across the hospital to improve recognition and response to clinical deterioration.
The successful candidate will be a registered nurse with AHPRA, hold a postgraduate critical care qualification, and have extensive ICU experience.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Five years full-time post-registration experience
- Three years in a critical care setting
- Advanced Life Support accreditation
- Proven leadership and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Strong communication and patient advocacy skills
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced assessment and management of acutely deteriorating patients in ICU
- Support early recognition and response to clinical deterioration
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes
- Demonstrate clinical leadership, education and advocacy
- Support upskilling of nursing staff and capability building
- Contribute to service development, quality improvement and research
