Job summary

The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre is seeking a casual Refuge Support Worker to provide on-site assistance to women and children in refuge and crisis accommodation in the Barwon region.

You will assess risk, deliver tailored supports, and work within a collaborative team to promote safety and wellbeing for clients while managing a roster that includes sleepovers and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or working towards a qualification in social work, psychology or other relevant disciplines.
• Ability to assess risk and provide crisis intervention for women and children experiencing family violence.
• Commitment to equity, diversity and client-centred practice.
• Ability to work autonomously and within a team in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite support to women and children in refuge and crisis accommodation.
• Assess risk and safety of clients and tailor supports accordingly.
• Deliver individualized and practical supports for clients living in refuge.
• Rostered hours include sleepovers, weekdays, weekends and public holidays.
