Job summary

Lords Group Trading Plc in Northampton is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to own your ledger, build relationships with customers, branches and sales teams, and manage the full credit journey from opening accounts to ongoing trading.

You’ll work in a fast-paced environment, supporting cash flow, resolving queries and ensuring seamless cover during busy periods. Location is Moulton Park, Northampton, with 8.30am-4.30pm Mon-Fri hours and competitive salary.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ previous experience in a Credit Control role.
• Hands-on approach and willingness to roll up your sleeves.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• Experience managing a varied workload within a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of business principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
• Experience in merchanting or construction is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Managing your own customer ledger to ensure collection objectives are achieved.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, branches and sales teams.
• Opening new customer accounts and supporting customers throughout the trading relationship.
• Monitoring customer accounts and collecting outstanding debts via telephone, email and written communication.
• Dealing with customer queries and seeing them through to resolution.
• Liaising with internal teams to ensure issues are resolved promptly.
• Preparing reports to highlight issues such as overtrading and accounts at risk.
• Escalating issues to the Divisional Credit Manager where appropriate.
• Acting as the local point of contact for all matters relating to collections and credit management.
• Supporting the wider team and carrying out other duties as required.
