The Captains Balcony is hiring a Chef to join our Sydney team. You will oversee and direct the preparation and production of meals within a fast-paced kitchen, contribute to new menus, supervise staff, and ensure quality and safety standards are met.

Role requires evening/weekend availability with flexible rosters. Salary is dependent on experience, from AUD 75,000–88,000 plus superannuation. Equal opportunity employer. This is a full-time, permanent role in our kitchen in Sydney.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience as a Chef.
• Experience in creative menu design and implementation.
• Experience managing a team, including rostering and training.
• Proficiency in food safety, HACCP compliance.

Responsabilités

• Oversee and direct all aspects of Kitchen operations.
• Food preparation and production management.
• Coordinate stock ordering and supplier relationships.
• Assist Head Chef in new menu production and tasting.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness and health and safety compliance.
• Mentor junior chefs and apprentices.
• Oversee kitchen rosters and timesheets.
• Support kitchen events as needed.
