Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland is seeking a compassionate Counsellor for the Parenting Orders Program in Mackay. The role focuses on assessment, counselling and case management for parents experiencing separation and high conflict, with some evening hours.

You will provide support to children and families, conduct risk assessments and collaborate with services, working in a not-for-profit context in Mackay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level degree in Psychology, Social Work or Behavioural Science from a recognised tertiary institution
• Eligible for membership with APS; AASW or PACFA
• Current Queensland Drivers Licence
• Suitability Card for Child Related Employment (Blue Card)
• Willingness to undergo a criminal history check

Responsibilities

• Providing assessment, counselling, psychoeducation, referrals, case management to parents.
• Providing support to children and families through referrals and case collaboration.
• Complete risk assessments and safety planning with people experiencing domestic and family violence as part of case management and client service delivery.
