Job summary

Queensland Cotton Corporation is seeking a Stationary Plant Operator for a permanent, full-time position at a cotton gin in Emerald, QLD. You will perform start-up checks, run the gin at optimal levels, diagnose breakdowns, and monitor downtime to minimize interruptions.

Responsibilities include cleaning lint cleaner bars and flues, adjusting operations to fibre characteristics, moisture, and bale storage while ensuring safe removal and storage of wrap.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in an operational environment.
• Knowledge of safety legislation.
• Reasonable computer skills and high literacy to understand safety instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform gin start up checks and run the cotton gin to optimal levels.
• Diagnose and resolve breakdowns of ginning equipment promptly to minimize downtime.
• Monitor downtime statistics and troubleshoot issues.
• Regularly clean lint cleaner bars and flues.
• Conduct checks and adjust operation to manage fibre characteristics, seed moisture, trash, disposal, bale storage, and seed factors.
