Job summary

Village Roadshow Ltd in Gold Coast is seeking a Costumier to craft and repair costumes across Movie World, Sea World and Paradise Country. You will work behind the scenes with fabric, fittings, and prop making. Based across multiple parks, you’ll be part of the magic that makes the shows unforgettable.

The role involves hemming, pattern making, garment assembly and assisting with costumes for promotions, events and shows. A Cert 2/3 sewing background and a valid driver's license are preferred.

Qualifications

• Industry experience equivalent to Cert 2 or 3 sewing.
• Accredited training in garment assembly and pattern drafting.
• Full garment assembly knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manufacturing and mending costumes at a proficient level.
• Using trade skills for pattern drafting and garment manufacture.
• Fittings and measurement taking at all parks.
• Assisting with costumes for promotions, events, filming and tours.
• Sorting costumes and delivering to venues.

$33.28 per hour | Part Time
Movie World, Oxenford, Gold Coast

The Opportunity

Step into a role where your trade skills, creativity and craftsmanship take center stage. From full garment assembly and intricate mending to prop making and precision cutting, you'll bring characters to life behind the scenes. Based across Movie World, Sea World and Paradise Country, you'll be part of the magic that makes the shows unforgettable.

Key Responsibilities

This role will have you hemming with excitement and tailoring the magic behind the scenes! You'll be:

• Manufacturing and mending costumes at a proficient level.
• Using trade/Industry skills to use multiple machines, perform advanced pattern making, exclusive garment cutting and manufacture, character creation and maintenance.
• Conducting fittings and measurement taking at all parks.
• Assisting in the preparation of costumes required for promotions, events, filming and tours.
• Sorting costumes into wardrobe racking and storage rails.
• Delivering appropriate costumes to required venues.
• Assisting with dressing for park shows, auditions and events.

What We're Looking For

If you've got the stitch-savvy grading game, then this role is tailor made to suit you! You'll bring:

• Industry experience equivalent to a minimum level of Cert 2 or 3 Level of sewing skills
• Accredited training/Industry experience garment assembly and pattern drafting
• Full garment assembly knowledge
• Grading experience essential
• Driver's License is essential
• Skilled communicator with great interpersonal skills
• Well organised with a strong attention to detail
• Relevant health and safety knowledge desired
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
