Job summary

Hays is partnering with a Defence consultancy to appoint an experienced Cost Estimator / Financial Management Specialist to support a high-profile Commonwealth Defence environment within geospatial intelligence capability operations. Based in Canberra, you will provide financial management, cost planning, forecasting and reporting to maintain fit-for-purpose mission ICT systems.

Qualifications

• Develop financial plans and forecasts for ICT sustainment.
• Monitor and manage performance against budgets.
• Collate, analyse and report financial data.
• Produce governance artefacts and reports.
• Engage effectively with technical, project, commercial and executive stakeholders.
• Escalate issues and seek executive guidance promptly.
• Experience in Defence, Federal Government, intelligence, ICT sustainment, PMO, finance, commercial, cost modelling or enterprise portfolio preferred.
• TSPV preferred; NV2 may be considered.
• Candidates will need to provide AGSVA Clearance Subject ID.

Your new company Hays are partnered with a Defence consultancy is seeking an experienced Cost Estimator / Financial Management Specialist to support a high-profile Commonwealth Defence environment within geospatial intelligence capability operations. This role will sit within a Product Management Office and support the sustainment of complex ICT mission systems. The successful candidate will provide financial management, cost planning, forecasting and reporting services to help Defence maintain fit-for-purpose mission systems within approved financial profiles and evolving ICT requirements.

Your new role

You will support the effective cost management of ICT sustainment activities across Mission Systems. Working under general direction, you will develop and implement cost management strategies, support financial year and multi-year sustainment planning cycles, manage cost risk and produce reporting artefacts to support data-driven decision making at governance forums.

What you'll need to succeed

• Developing financial plans and forecasts for ICT sustainment environments.
• Monitoring and managing performance against approved budgets.
• Collating, analysing and reporting financial data to support decision-making.
• Producing artefacts and reports for governance forums.
• Engaging effectively with a broad range of technical, project, commercial and executive stakeholders.
• Escalating issues and seeking executive guidance in a timely manner.
• Ideally, experience in ICT enterprise cost analysis.
• Strong alignment would come from candidates with Defence, Federal Government, intelligence, ICT sustainment, PMO, finance, commercial, cost modelling or enterprise portfolio experience.
• TSPV is preferred; NV2 may be considered.
• Candidates will need to provide their AGSVA Clearance Subject ID.
