We’re looking for finance-savvy people to join our Worley Power Services (WPS) team in two key roles: Cost Controller and Project Accountant.

When you work for us, you get the chance to join nearly 50,000 people all driven by a common purpose – delivering a more sustainable world. We’re excited about the challenges ahead. If you ask us, there’s never been a more rewarding time to work in the energy, chemical and resources sectors.

In these roles, you’ll work closely with site-based operations and maintenance teams to understand on-the-ground activities and translate them into clear and actionable financial data. Prior project accounting experience in power generation or other heavy industries and exposure to site based teams is highly regarded and will help set you up for success. Each role plays a critical part in managing project finances, with a focus on different stages of the project lifecycle. Whether your strength lies in daily cost tracking or in-depth monthly reporting and financial analysis, you’ll help drive smarter, more efficient project delivery. We offer flexibility on location.

Who We Are

Worley is a global professional services company of energy, chemicals and resources experts headquartered in Australia. Right now, we’re bridging two worlds as we accelerate to more sustainable energy sources, while helping our customers provide the energy, chemicals and resources that society needs now.

This role sits within in our Power Services division which provides operations and maintenance services to over 30 power generation assets across Australia. Guided by our vision – working together to deliver a sustainable and low-carbon energy future – Worley Power Services is a leading asset management partner for complex and critical infrastructure.

Join us and help drive innovation and sustainability in our projects.

What You’ll Do

  • Monitor and control project costs, expenditure, and commitments.
  • Perform variance analysis and identify trends, risks, or issues.
  • Prepare and support monthly financial reports, dashboards, and forecasts.
  • Drive month-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Provide cost breakdowns and insights to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with site-based maintenance teams to explain financial data in practical, accessible terms.
  • Build and maintain reports using tools like Power BI for cost transparency.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and quarterly planning cycles.
  • Liaise with AP, Procurement, and Delivery teams to resolve financial queries.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and contracts.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in project governance and financial performance.

What You’ll Have

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience in project accounting and/or cost control roles.
  • Comfortable working with site-based teams and translating financial data for non-financial audiences.
  • Familiarity with labour cost structures (EBA knowledge desirable).
  • Energy sector (or other heavy industry) experience working with site-based teams.
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills; Power BI or ERP system knowledge is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Commercial acumen and a proactive approach to supporting project success.
  • CA/CPA qualified or currently progressing (desirable).

Why you should apply

  • Join a fun and inclusive, global team of professionals.
  • Enjoy a varied & challenging role.
  • ASX listed global energy leader.
  • A supportive and collaborative team.
  • Opportunities for personal and professional development and career growth.
