Job summary

NSW Justice Health & Forensic Mental Health Network is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN 2-8) for Primary Care at Cessnock Correctional Centre on a 24-hour per week temporary contract up to January 2028. The role requires current AHPRA registration and at least one year of nursing experience, with the aim of delivering comprehensive health assessments and management within custody.

The successful candidate will perform reception screening, individualised care planning, and nursing

Qualifications

• Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• At least one full year of experience working as a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse performs reception screening and comprehensive health assessments on persons received into custody whilst assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing management.
