Job summary

Sharp & Carter is seeking a hands-on Corporate Accountant to join the finance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract, with a strong possibility of converting to permanent due to growth. The successful candidate will own core corporate accounting activities from day one.

You will report to the Financial Controller and support month-end reporting, group consolidations, statutory compliance, tax, audit coordination and financial control activities, while driving improvements across processes.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualified is essential.
• Immediately available or on short notice.
• Proven experience in Corporate Accountant, Financial Accountant or Senior Accountant role.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including consolidations and statutory reporting.
• Experience managing month-end processes and balance sheet integrity.
• Sound tax and compliance knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills and ERP experience.
• Self-motivated, proactive and comfortable working independently.
• Strong attention to detail with the confidence to challenge and improve existing processes.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments and provisions.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Manage group consolidations, intercompany transactions and eliminations.
• Assist with management reporting, board reporting and financial analysis.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Prepare statutory accounts and coordinate external audit requirements.
• Manage BAS, FBT, payroll tax and other compliance obligations.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and treasury reporting.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and lease accounting schedules.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes, controls and reporting.
• Partner with stakeholders across the business to provide commercial and accounting support.
