Southern Cross Gold Consolidated Ltd (SXGC) seeks motivated Core Shed Assistants for Kilmore, VIC. Join our exploration team to process drill core safely and accurately, helping build data foundations for a world-class program.

Two-year fixed-term, full-time roles with flexible roster options. You will work with geologists and site leaders, contribute to QA/QC, and support environmental and safety standards in a hands-on, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in core processing, mining, or exploration environments (preferred but not necessary).
• Comfortable in physically active, hands-on roles.
• Focus on attention to detail and repetitive work.
• Strong commitment to safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end diamond drill core processing including metre marking, orientation, SG, RQD, magnetic susceptibility, photography, cutting and sampling.
• Receiving, offloading, cleaning, aligning and marking drill core and trays to logging-ready standards.
• High-quality core photography and accurate data capture.
• Sample data entry and preparation of sample cut sheets.
• Coordination of sample dispatch and logistics.
• Application of QA/QC best practices across all core handling activities.
• Development and improvement of safe systems of work.
• Operational support to geologists and supervisors.
• Environmental testing and monitoring support.
• Support for site visits and visitor programs.
• Continuous improvement through sharing ideas and improving workflows.
