Job summary

Glencore Townsville operations are seeking a Refinery Operator to safely operate and monitor electrolyte circulation and treatment systems, contributing to copper cathode production. You will work in a small team, maintaining environmental compliance and plant reliability while upholding high safety standards.

The role requires experience with mineral processing equipment, DCS/SCADA control environments, and strong troubleshooting abilities.

Qualifications

Experience operating mineral processing, metallurgical or heavy industrial process plant equipment.
Experience in a control room environment with DCS/SCADA control systems.
Demonstrated troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve operational issues.

Responsibilities

Operate, control and monitor the electrolyte circulation system, Electrolyte Treatment Plant area and Electrolyte Purification Plant system.
Operate mineral processing equipment and control systems to achieve safe and efficient production outcomes.
Conduct process isolations and support operational activities per site procedures.
Manage stormwater systems, reagent ordering and environmental compliance requirements.
Report equipment breakdowns, leaks and defects through maintenance systems.
Maintain high housekeeping standards and contribute to safety and continuous improvement.
