Job summary

Austral Resources is seeking a skilled Production Pit Technician to join our Mt Kelly Operations (Lady Annie mine), located about 120km north-northwest of Mount Isa. The role supports geological and sampling activities within active pits and requires strict adherence to safety and data recording standards.

We offer a family-friendly FIFO/DIDO roster with Cairns, Brisbane and Townsville options, modern camp facilities, and on-site training to develop skills in mobile equipment and process plant

Qualifications

• Must operate to safety standards and mitigate risk.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow SOPs and verbal instructions.
• Strong data recording habits and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Follow supervision to carry out site support tasks in a safe, efficient manner.
• Perform field-based geological sampling and basic logging in active pits.
• Mark up ore shapes in the pit.
• Sample dispatch and reporting.
• Ensure accurate and timely collection and entry of geological data.
• Keep vehicles and work areas tidy and organized.
• Manage and maintain sampling equipment and materials.
• Pre-emptively communicate to prepare upcoming work areas.
