Job description

Public Sector People are proud to partner with Livingstone Shire Council to recruit an experienced Coordinator Revenue Services.

This is an opportunity to step into a key leadership role within Council’s Financial Services team, overseeing the day-to-day operations of Revenue Services and leading a team of five.

Reporting to the Manager Financial Services, you will bring strong revenue and accounting expertise together with people leadership, stakeholder management and a continuous improvement mindset.

The role will play an important part in ensuring Council’s revenue operations are accurate, compliant and effective, while supporting the team through ongoing development, process improvement and knowledge sharing.

Relocation support is available for eligible candidates including up to $4,000 in relocation reimbursement and up to $2,000 in temporary accommodation support, subject to Council approval and conditions.

The Opportunity

As Coordinator Revenue Services, you will lead, develop and manage the Revenue team, ensuring high performance, operational effectiveness and a consistent approach to service delivery.

You will oversee Council’s revenue systems, rating structures and processes, while providing specialist advice across revenue, rates, fees and charges, debt recovery and related financial matters.

This is a hands-on leadership role where your ability to support and develop your team will be just as important as your technical revenue expertise.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, developing and managing the Revenue Services team to deliver high performance and continuous improvement
  • Overseeing revenue systems, rating structures and processes to ensure accurate billing, collection and legislative compliance
  • Providing expert revenue and financial advice to internal stakeholders and the community
  • Supporting the development and review of revenue policies, procedures and processes
  • Contributing to budgeting, financial reporting, strategic financial planning, audits, reconciliations and internal controls
  • Managing Council’s revenue accounts, fees and charges registers and associated processes
  • Identifying opportunities to improve revenue practices, systems and service delivery
  • Supporting effective resource management across the Revenue Services function
  • Building strong working relationships across Financial Services, Council and the broader community
  • Supporting the development of team capability, knowledge sharing and succession planning
  • Ensuring accurate records, sound governance and compliance with relevant legislation and Council policies
About You

You will be an experienced revenue or accounting professional who understands the complexities of revenue management and is confident leading a team in a local government or similar environment.

You’ll bring strong technical capability, but equally important will be your ability to lead people, build relationships and identify practical opportunities to improve the way revenue services are delivered.

You’ll bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in revenue accounting, rating legislation, debt recovery and/or related financial services
  • Strong understanding of rates, fees and charges and revenue processes
  • Proven people leadership and team management capability
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to interpret legislation, financial standards and Council policies and translate these into practical outcomes
  • Strong communication, consultation, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience developing and improving policies, procedures and operational processes
  • Strong financial systems capability and sound organisational and time management skills
  • The ability to provide practical financial advice and work collaboratively across a range of stakeholders
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and team development
  • A strong commitment to professional and ethical conduct

You will also hold:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Accounting or a related discipline
  • Substantial experience in a revenue management or accounting-focused position
  • Strong experience across financial and revenue management systems, with TechOne and Pathway experience highly regarded

Previous experience within a local government environment will be highly regarded, particularly experience across rates, revenue, recovery and property-related functions.

This is an opportunity for an experienced revenue professional to take on a leadership role where you can make a genuine impact, both through the technical work you deliver and the team you lead.

If you are an experienced revenue or accounting professional looking for a leadership opportunity within local government, we would like to hear from you.

Applications close 30 October 2026
