Job summary

Wantirna Kinder Haven is seeking an experienced Cook to join our team. You will prepare high-quality, nutritious meals and snacks for up to 65 children daily, in a busy early learning centre that operates from 6:30am to 6:30pm.

This full-time role is 38 hours per week with above award wages and a 50% discount on childcare fees for families. You will work with a supportive team, uphold safe food handling and dietary requirements, and have opportunities to develop within G8 Education.

Qualifications

• Experience in menu planning, budgeting, stock ordering and control.
• Knowledge of dietary and allergy-safe requirements.
• Experience ensuring a clean and safe kitchen per Food Safety regulations.
• Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Availability for set shifts Monday to Friday.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Cook to join the team at Wantirna Kinder Haven produce high quality, nutritious meals and snacks for up to 65 children each day.

This role is Full-Time working 38 hours per week.

Our children enjoy delightful indoor and outdoor play areas, rooms equipped with the latest age-appropriate technology and learning resources, and a range of activities.

At capacity our centre caters for up to 65 children with operating hours from 6:30am - 6:30pm

About You

• Experienced in Menu planning, budgeting, stock ordering & control
• Experienced in dietary and allergy safe requirements.
• Experienced in ensuring a clean and safe kitchen environment in accordance with the relevant Food Safety regulations
• Be a Team Player with great communication and interpersonal skills
• Be available for set shift days and times Monday to Friday

Successful Applicants must hold

• A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an ACECQA approved Early Childhood qualification and experience in a cook role
• A current Working with Children’s Checkand First Aid
• Completed or willing to complete Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
