Job summary

Churches of Christ Golden Age Aged Care on the Gold Coast is seeking a Cook to deliver nutritious meals that support residents' wellbeing. You will handle food preparation, maintain kitchen hygiene, and work with a team to ensure safe, high-quality service.

Ideal candidates have at least one year in a commercial kitchen, knowledge of IDDSI, and a commitment to safe, patient-focused care. This role is permanent part-time with Australian work rights and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year experience as a commercial cook in a hygiene-controlled environment.
• Experience in an aged care facility is advantageous but not required.
• Understanding of IDDSI or willingness to complete training.
• Knowledge of texture-modified foods and food hygiene practices.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking food handling, meal preparation and cooking duties.
• Maintaining a clean and tidy kitchen in line with cleaning and infection control procedures.
• Completing basic records including meal numbers, missed meals and fridge/freezer temperatures.
• Liaising with supervisor and suppliers about ordering and stock control; supporting safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.
