Bupa Aged Care Clayton is seeking a dedicated Cook to prepare nutritious meals in a home-like environment for residents. You will engage with residents and the care team to ensure dietary and cultural needs are met, while maintaining high standards of food safety and kitchen operations.

This permanent full-time position offers opportunities for development within a supportive team and flexible shifts designed to meet resident care requirements in a dynamic care home setting.

Qualificações

• Experience in preparing and delivering meals in a similar environment.
• Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent preferred but not essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to solve problems independently.

Responsabilidades

• Plan and prepare well balanced and nutritious meals for residents.
• Liaise with residents and care team to meet dietary and cultural needs.
• Support efficient kitchen and catering operations.
• Comply with infection control and food safety procedures.
• Carry out stock taking and basic food quality checks.

Our Clayton care home is set within a lively community 25kms from the CBD, surrounded by a hospital, supermarket, and schools. It consists of 155 beds, with a variety of care types. Our primary goal is placing our focus on the health, lifestyle and well-being of our residents.

About the Role

As a Cook at our Clayton care home, you will provide well-presented and nutritious meals in a home like environment. Your passion for food along with your person-first approach will make a real difference to the life of our residents. This is a permanent full-time position.

Duties

• Plan and prepare well balanced and nutritious meals for our residents
• Liaise with residents, families, and the care team to ensure residents’ dietary, individual and cultural needs are met
• Support the efficient functioning of kitchen and catering services
• Comply with all infection control and food safety procedures
• Perform administrative duties related to the kitchen operation such as stock taking, and food quality assessment

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience in the preparation and delivery of meals within a similar environment
• Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is preferred but not essential
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to solve problems independently
