Job summary

Bupa Australia is recruiting a Cook for our Tugun care home. You will provide well-presented, nutritious meals in a home-like environment, supporting residents’ dietary needs with a person-first approach. The role requires availability for four weekdays from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, and no sponsorships are available.

Join a supportive team at a modern care home by the Gold Coast and contribute to high-quality resident care while developing through comprehensive induction and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the preparation and delivery of meals within a similar environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to solve problems independently.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare well balanced and nutritious meals for residents.
• Liaise with residents, families and care team to meet dietary, individual and cultural needs.
• Support the efficient functioning of kitchen and catering services.
• Comply with infection control and food safety procedures.
• Perform administrative duties related to kitchen operations such as stock taking and quality assessment.

About the Role

As a Cook at one of our care homes you will provide well-presented and nutritious meals in a home like environment. Your passion for food along with your person-first approach will make a real difference to the life of our residents.

Candidate must be available to work 4 days per week from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM (30 hours per week). Full availability during these working hours is required to meet the role requirements. . No sponsorships are available.

Duties

• Plan and prepare well balanced and nutritious meals for our residents
• Liaise with residents, families, and the care team to ensure residents’ dietary, individual and cultural needs are met
• Support the efficient functioning of kitchen and catering services
• Comply with all infection control and food safety procedures
• Perform administrative duties related to the kitchen operation such as stock taking, and food quality assessment

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience in the preparation and delivery of meals within a similar environment
• Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is preferred but not essential
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to solve problems independently
