Job summary

West Moreton Health is offering casual Food Safety Supervisor roles across Gatton, Laidley and Esk. You will ensure safe, nutritious food delivery and oversee the daily food safety program in line with Queensland Health guidelines.

This casual position supports a large health service delivering care across the region; responsibilities include ordering, food preparation, stock rotation and reporting maintenance, with emphasis on compliance and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Accredited Food Safety Supervisor qualification required or to be obtained within three months.
• Vaccination against vaccine-preventable diseases as directed.
• Ability to follow standard recipes and catering procedures.

Responsibilities

You’ll ensure delivery of safe and nutritious food while adhering to Queensland Health guidelines, policies and procedures. As a Food Safety Supervisor, oversee the day to day implementation of food safety in the workplace and apply and monitor food safety requirements.

This vacancy will be open for 6 months and applications will be regularly assessed.

What You'll Be Doing

• Ensure ordering, food preparation, cooking production, presentation methods and distribution services are in accordance with the food safety program.
• Prepare meals for special dietary requirements
• Rotate stock and monitor the quality of stock received
• Report maintenance requirements
• Have the skills of a Food Safety Supervisor

• Proven knowledge and application of cooking requirements and techniques.
• Proven ability to follow standard recipes and catering procedures.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Good organisational and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
• Ability to maintain records and documents relevant to the position.

Mandatory Requirements

• Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
• Possession of an Accredited Food Safety Supervisor qualification. It is a requirement of this position that the qualification must be obtained within three (3) months of commencement in the position if not already held.
