Job summary

Bupa Banora Point is a dedicated care home in NSW seeking a Cook to prepare nutritious meals and contribute to a home‑like dining experience for residents. You will work with a compassionate team, ensuring dietary and cultural needs are met while maintaining high food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the preparation and delivery of meals in a similar environment.
• Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is preferred but not essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to solve problems independently.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare well balanced and nutritious meals for residents.
• Liaise with residents, families and the care team to meet dietary and cultural needs.
• Support the efficient functioning of kitchen and catering services.
• Comply with infection control and food safety procedures.
• Perform administrative duties related to kitchen operations such as stock taking and quality assessment.

Bupa Banora Point is a delightful care home set in a suburb of Tweed Heads in the Northern Rivers region of NSW. You’ll be close to the local community with shops, parks, schools and churches nearby. It consists of 103 beds, with a variety of care units. Our primary goal is placing our focus on the health, lifestyle and well‑being of our residents.

About the Role

As a Cook at one of our care homes you will provide well‑presented and nutritious meals in a home like environment. Your passion for food along with your person‑first approach will make a real difference to the life of our residents.

Duties

• Plan and prepare well balanced and nutritious meals for our residents
• Liaise with residents, families, and the care team to ensure residents’ dietary, individual and cultural needs are met
• Support the efficient functioning of kitchen and catering services
• Comply withall infection control and food safety procedures
• Perform administrative duties related to the kitchen operation such as stock taking, and food quality assessment

Skills and Experience

• Previousexperience in the preparation and delivery of meals within a similar environment
• Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is preferred but not essential
