Job summary

Fresh Hope Communities is seeking a Cook to prepare fresh, nutritious meals for aged care residents in a residential setting. You will maintain a personalised, customer-focused approach and adhere to food safety practices and regulations.

You’ll work part-time or casual hours, with salary packaging options and uniform provided. Ideally you have a Cert III in Commercial Cookery and strong knowledge of food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Ideally minimum cert III in Commercial Cookery/Hospitality.
• Excellent knowledge of Food Safety Standards.
• Experience with texture-modified diets and allergen awareness.
• Strong communication and customer service abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals for aged care residents within a residential setting.
• Ensure dietary concerns are accommodated and textures are prepared accordingly.
• Prepare texture-modified diets, supplements and monitor allergens/intolerances.
• Follow the Fresh Hope Communities Food Safety Program and update resident dietary records.

Job description

As a Cook you will be a keen and reliable employee with great communication skills and a friendly disposition. You will be responsible for cooking fresh and nutritious meals and enhancing residents' dining experience by ensuring and maintaining a personalised and customer-focused approach whilst adhering to food safety practices and regulations.

Your Contribution

• Preparation of meals for Aged Care Residents that meets within the residential aged care setting;
• Ensuring all dietary concerns are accommodated;
• Preparation of texture modified diets, supplements and an awareness of allergens/ intolerances;
• Ensuring that services are provided are in accordance with the Fresh Hope Communities Food Safety Program;
• Updating resident dietary information/records;

The Essentials

• Ideally a Minimum Cert III in Commercial Cookery / Hospitality or equivalent;
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of Food Safety Standards;
• Completion of a HACCP course is desirable;
• A good insight into the health, social or aged care services industries is desirable;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with customer service skills;
• Experience in the Aged Care Industry is desirable;
• Basic understanding of MS Office Suite;
• A current NDIS Worker Check (within the last three years) suitable for aged care or willing to obtain
