Job summary

The Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network is seeking a motivated Cook to join our team in Murray and Mallee. You will handle menu planning, food preparation, plating and presentation, while also managing supplies and ensuring quality and efficient service.

The ideal candidate is a trade-qualified cook or has equivalent experience, with strong teamwork, flexibility and knowledge of food safety and hygiene. Experience in healthcare catering and staff rostering is highly regarded.

• Experienced in bulk meal preparation, including catering for dietary requirements.

About the Role:

We’re looking for a motivated and passionate Cook to join our team! You’ll play an important role in delivering high-quality meals, from menu selection and food preparation to plating and presentation. You’ll also manage food supplies and help maintain high standards of quality, efficiency and food service.

What We're Looking For:

Essential Criteria

• Trade-qualified Cook or equivalent experience and skills.
• Team-focused and flexible, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experienced in bulk meal preparation, including catering for dietary requirements.
• Ability to supervise staff, manage priorities, rosters and meet deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and handling, with the ability to use initiative and work independently.

Desired Criteria

• Current First Aid Certificate and sound manual handling skills.
• Experience in a healthcare setting, including menu planning and balancing.
• Knowledge of infection control procedures and staff rostering.
