Job summary

Bombay Dhaba in Brisbane is seeking an experienced full-time Cook to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will prepare and cook quality meals while upholding food safety, hygiene and kitchen standards in a busy restaurant setting.

You will work 38 hours per week with a salary of AUD 75,000–80,000 per annum plus Superannuation. AQF Certificate III or higher, at least 1 year of experience, and solid knowledge of cooking techniques and safety are required.

Qualifications

• AQF Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher.
• Solid knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Experience maintaining kitchen hygiene and safety standards.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy restaurant environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking quality meals while maintaining food safety, hygiene and kitchen standards in a busy restaurant environment. • Responsible for preparing, cooking and presenting meals according to menu requirements and quality standards.

Duties

• Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to menu requirements
• Preparing, seasoning and portioning ingredients
• Ensuring consistency in food quality and presentation
• Checking the quality and freshness of food ingredients
• Operating ovens, grills, fryers, stovetops and other commercial cooking equipment
• Monitoring cooking temperatures and ensuring food is properly cooked
• Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards in the kitchen
• Storing food and ingredients safely and following stock rotation procedures
• Monitoring food supplies and assisting with stock control
• Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen work areas and equipment
• Assisting with daily kitchen operations and service periods
• Working effectively with kitchen staff during busy service periods

Qualification

• AQF Certificate III or higher in Commercial Cookery
• Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience as a Cook
• Sound knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, food safety and kitchen hygiene
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy commercial kitchen environment

Salary $75,000 – $80,000 per annum + Superannuation Employment Condition Full Time / 38 hours per week
