Job summary

SMC Corporation Australia and New Zealand seeks a Controls Design Manager to lead the controls design team, ensuring innovative, compliant solutions and robust technical support. You will guide performance, manage objectives and maintain regulatory alignment with SMC standards.

The role focuses on design-for-manufacture, ongoing technical knowledge, and collaboration with the Head of Engineering to meet cost and quality targets across ANZ.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years leading a design team in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Proficient in 2D/3D CAD software, SolidWorks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop the controls design team to deliver compliant, high-quality products.
• Develop annual objectives, monitor progress, and conduct performance reviews.
• Oversee design for manufacture, cost effectiveness and regulatory compliance.
• Produce technical design documents and support materials for approved products.
• Maintain knowledge of relevant standards and ensure alignment with SMC ANZ scope of work.
