Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in contracts, commercial or contract administration within civil construction or infrastructure.
• Experience administering subcontracts and supporting head contract requirements; knowledge of AS and GC21 contracts desirable.
• Experience managing claims, variations, extensions of time and contractual correspondence.
• Excellent communication, organisation and attention to detail, with ability to manage multiple projects.

Job description

SRG Global is an ASX listed diversified infrastructure services company that was born out of Australia's greatest engineering challenge, the Snowy Mountains Hydro-electric Scheme, in 1961.

We are seeking a motivated and commercially minded Contracts Manager to provide centralised contractual support, oversight and guidance across multiple projects. Working closely with Project Managers and operational teams, you will help ensure contractual obligations are managed effectively, commercial risks are identified early, and claims, variations and other contractual entitlements are proactively progressed.

About the Role:

You will work across multiple projects, providing practical contractual support from head contract through to subcontract. This includes reviewing contractual obligations, claims, variations, extensions of time and notices, supporting entitlement and claims strategies, and ensuring key contractual requirements and timeframes are actively managed.

Acting as a central point of support for Project Managers, you will help navigate contractual and commercial issues, bring structure and consistency to contract management, and provide visibility of risks, exposures and outstanding actions to senior management.

A key focus of the role will be supporting improved commercial performance through regular contract health checks, review of claims and entitlements, commercial reporting and risk reviews, while identifying recurring contractual issues and opportunities for continuous improvement across the business.

We're looking for someone who is proactive, commercially minded and solutions-focused, with the confidence to provide guidance on contractual matters and the judgement to seek input on more complex issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide contractual support and guidance to Project Managers and project teams across multiple projects.
• Review subcontract terms, departures, contractual obligations and risk positions, escalating matters where required.
• Support the setup and administration of head contracts and subcontracts, ensuring key obligations, securities, insurances and compliance requirements are appropriately managed.
• Lead and support the development and review of contractual claims, including delay claims, disruption claims, variations and extensions of time.
• Assist Project Managers and project teams with contractual notices, claim submissions, strategic correspondence and responses under both head contracts and subcontracts.
• Support project teams in developing entitlement and claims strategies and maintaining accurate claim records and supporting documentation.
• Monitor contractual time bars, key obligations and outstanding actions, proactively following up with Project Managers to ensure requirements are met.
• Conduct monthly contract health checks, including reviews of notices, extensions of time, outstanding variations, claims and subcontract exposure.
• Support project commercial reporting, forecasting and risk reviews by identifying contractual risks, opportunities and potential financial exposure.
• Maintain centralised registers and reporting for claims, variations, disputes, notices, correspondence and other contractual activities.
• Identify recurring contractual issues, systemic risks and lessons learned, supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
• Work collaboratively with Project Managers, Operations, Finance and Legal to resolve contractual issues and support effective project outcomes.
• Drive consistent contract administration, governance and processes across projects and provide ongoing guidance to project teams.

The successful applicant will ideally have:

• Tertiary qualification in Construction, Quantity Surveying, Law, Engineering, Contracts or a related discipline (preferred).
• 5+ years' experience in contracts, commercial or contract administration within civil construction or infrastructure, including projects valued at $20 million-$200 million+
• Experience administering subcontracts and supporting head contract requirements, with knowledge of AS and GC21 contracts desirable.
• Experience managing claims, variations, extensions of time and contractual correspondence.
• Strong commercial, analytical and contractual interpretation skills, with an understanding of project programmes, critical path and delay analysis principles desirable.
• Excellent communication, organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively with Project Managers and project teams.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach with sound judgement and a willingness to seek guidance on complex matters.
