Job summary

Central Highlands Regional Council seeks a Contracts Specialist to drive governance and value across Council by managing high-value contracts, supporting procurement and legal teams, and maintaining contract management systems and registers.

You will monitor compliance, performance, and risk while providing expert advice and building strong stakeholder relationships to deliver value for money and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Procurement, Commerce, Business, Law, Project Management or related discipline.
• QLD drivers’ licence (if required)
• Knowledge of contract management principles and public sector procurement.
• Knowledge of contract law fundamentals and commercial contracting principles.
• Knowledge of risk management and supplier performance management.
• Knowledge of local government legislation and governance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the implementation and ongoing improvement of Council’s Contract Management Framework.
• Monitor compliance with contract management requirements and recommend corrective actions where deficiencies are identified.
• Monitor supplier performance against contractual requirements, KPIs and service standards.
• Prepare governance reports relating to contract performance, risk, compliance and organisational maturity.
• Leading, mentoring and supporting a multi-disciplinary team.
• Establishing and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships and providing exceptional customer service.
