About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping and strengthening contract management practices across the organisation.
Reporting to the Executive Manager Business Services, you will provide expert advice on contract development ,contract management, performance ,risk and compliance, supporting a diverse portfolio of service, supply and infrastructure contracts.
Working closely with senior leaders, project managers and procurement professionals, you will help drive commercial outcomes, improve contract performance and ensure Council's contractual arrangements deliver value for the community.
This role is ideal for an experienced contract management professional or individual with a strong background in contract law. You will bring sound commercial judgement and enjoy solving complex contractual issues, influencing stakeholders, and building organisational capability through practical advice and continuous improvement.
You will have the opportunity to establish frameworks, improve processes, work on high-value and high-risk contracts, and become Council's trusted advisor on contract management matters.
About You
You are a highly regarded contract management professional with experience managing complex contractual arrangements and providing trusted advice to senior stakeholders. With a strong understanding of contract law principles and commercial risk, you can confidently interpret, develop and negotiate contract terms while balancing governance, compliance and operational outcomes.
You are a collaborative and influential communicator who builds strong relationships across an organisation, enabling you to guide stakeholders through complex contract matters and drive improved contract management practices. Your analytical mindset, attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement help you identify risks, solve problems and deliver practical, value-for-money outcomes.
Experience in local government, procurement, construction, Infrastructure or professional services contracting will be highly regarded.
