Job summary

Thiess, based at our Brisbane Head Office, is seeking a Contracts Advisor to join the Australian Operations Procurement team. You will manage the full contract lifecycle for subcontractors, suppliers and consultants, helping protect the business from commercial risk while delivering value across our project portfolio.

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will prepare tender packages through Felix, evaluate submissions across technical, commercial, safety and compliance requirements, and

Qualifications

• Experience in Contracts Administration and/or Procurement within mining, construction or similar project-based environment.
• Strong contract drafting, negotiation and contract management capability.
• Commercial acumen with ability to identify and mitigate contractual risk.
• Experience managing supplier and stakeholder relationships.
• Well-developed communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and issuing procurement tender packages through Felix.
• Evaluating and reconciling tender submissions across technical, commercial, safety and compliance requirements.
• Drafting, negotiating and administering subcontract, supply and consultancy agreements.
• Partnering with Legal, Commercial, Finance and Operations stakeholders on contractual matters.
• Managing contract variations, claims, extensions, amendments and disputes.
• Supporting risk mitigation and ensuring compliance with Thiess contractual frameworks.
• Maintaining contract records, approvals and governance processes.
• Managing contract close-out activities, including completion certificates, securities and retention releases.
