Job summary

Acier Recruitment Pty Ltd in Australia is seeking a Contract Administrator for a multi-million dollar commercial project. You will provide first class contract services, measure work, prepare tender documents and negotiate with contractors and clients.

The role requires designing sub-contractor contracts, experience with principal contractors, budgeting and cash flow forecasting, and strong skills in dispute resolution and financial control. Industrial project background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Cost Management, Contract administration or QS role.
• Industrial projects background.
• Tertiary qualification: Associate Diploma (engineering or Quantity surveying) or 5+ years in similar role.
• Strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
• Budgeting, cost planning, and financial control experience.

Responsibilities

• Measure and describe work, prepare tender docs, and negotiate with contractors and clients.
• Design and manage sub-contractor contracts.
• Liaise with principal contractors and manage contract relations.
• Prepare detailed budgets and cost plans.
• Prepare turnover, cash flow projections and P&L forecasts.
• Value variations and assess potential variations.
• Prepare and present financial controls.

About the Role of the Contracts Administrator:

The Contract administrator's primary function is to provide clients with first class contract services.

Main Duties for Contract Administrator:

• Measuring and describing the work including the preparation of tender documentation and negotiation with contractors and clients
• Must be able to design a full sub-contractors contract
• Must have experience in dealing principal contractors
• Preparing and using detailed budgets and cost plans
• Preparing and interpreting turnover / cash flow projections and profit / loss forecasts
• Undertaking the valuing of variations and potential variations
• Preparing and presentation of financial control

SuccessfulContract Administratormust have:

• Proven experience in Cost Management, Contract administration or QS role.
• Must of Industrial projects background
• Tertiary qualified: Minimum Associate Diploma (engineering or Quantity surveying) or minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar role.
• Business understanding (market knowledge in area of work)
• Proven skills in dispute resolution and negotiation.
