Job summary

Monadelphous is seeking an experienced Contract Administrator to manage the full contract lifecycle on a major construction project. You will work closely with project and commercial teams to administer contracts, monitor costs, support procurement activities, and ensure contractual obligations are met throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Experience in contract administration and commercial roles within construction, mining, resources, energy or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong understanding of contract management principles across major project environments.
  • Experience managing procurement activities and subcontractor engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee contract administration from award to project completion.
  • Support administration of client contracts and subcontractor agreements.
  • Manage subcontract tendering, evaluation, negotiation and award.
  • Monitor project costs, forecasts and budgets with commercial input.
  • Prepare, assess and negotiate variations, claims, progress payments and correspondence.
  • Assist in management of notices, extensions of time, changes and disputes.

Job description

Monadelphous is seeking an experienced Contract Administrator to manage the full contract lifecycle of a major construction project.
Working closely with project and commercial teams, you'll play a key role in administering contracts, managing project costs, supporting procurement activities, and ensuring contractual obligations are effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee contract administration activities from award through to project completion.
  • Support the administration of both client contracts and subcontractor agreements, ensuring contractual requirements are met.
  • Manage procurement processes including subcontract tendering, evaluation, negotiation and award.
  • Monitor project costs, forecasts and budgets, providing commercial input to project leadership teams.
  • Prepare, assess and negotiate variations, claims, progress payments and commercial correspondence.
  • Assist in the management of contractual notices, extensions of time, change management and dispute resolution processes.
  • Work closely with project managers and site teams to identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Provide commercial guidance to stakeholders to support informed decision-making and project performance.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company procedures and relevant legislation throughout project execution.
What you’ll bring
  • Demonstrated experience in Contract Administration, Commercial Administration or a similar commercial role within construction, mining, resources, energy or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong understanding of contract management principles across major project environments.
  • Experience managing procurement activities, subcontractor engagement and contract administration processes.
  • Proven ability to administer variations, claims, progress payments and contract closeout activities.
  • Sound commercial acumen with the ability to identify and manage contractual risk.
  • Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to build productive working relationships across project, commercial and client teams.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Law, Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
  • Previous experience supporting large-scale engineering, construction or maintenance projects is advantageous.
