Job summary

Monadelphous is seeking a Contracts Admin to manage the commercial and administrative aspects of subcontractors on a Brisbane-based project. This permanent role offers exposure to the full project lifecycle and collaboration across our corporate contracts team.

You will be responsible for negotiating subcontracts, variations and claims, co-ordinating documentation, and ensuring compliance with legislation and company procedures.

Qualifications

  • Degree in law would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of current contract law and its application to mining/oil & gas industries.
  • Demonstrable experience negotiating and managing subcontracts.
  • Contract administration training or qualifications are highly regarded; alternatively, demonstrated experience with contract management, ideally with 5+ years in a similar role.
  • Experience in sourcing quotes from subcontractors and establishing agreements.
  • Experience with claims and invoicing will be essential.
  • Advanced proficiency across MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage across all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong attention to detail with well-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Review and negotiate terms and conditions of contracts as part of the client tender process.
  • Draft and negotiate subcontracts with support from corporate contracts team.
  • Review and assist with negotiation and execution of variations and claims.
  • Support response to client contract letters.
  • Interpret contractual documentation and make recommendations for action.
  • Prepare and coordinate scope of work documentation for quotation processes.
  • Administer subcontractor agreements, including progress claims, variations, compliance and performance monitoring.
  • Coordinate subcontract documentation: RFIs, TQs, site instructions, purchase orders and contractual correspondence.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, contract requirements and relevant legislation.
  • Support site-based teams, interfacing between onsite delivery and offsite commercial functions.

Job description

As the Contracts Admin you will be responsible for managing the commercial and administrative aspects of subcontractors on a project and to ensure subcontractors are engaged correctly and meet contractual obligations. This is a Brisbane based permanent position.

This role offers exposure to all stages of the project lifecycle, opportunities to collaborate with a range of stakeholders including our corporate contracts team, and the chance to develop valuable skills within a dynamic project environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertaking the review and negotiation of the terms and conditions of contracts as part of the client tender process in accordance with business policies and best practices
  • Drafting and negotiating subcontracts with support from corporate contracts team.
  • Reviewing and assisting with the negotiation and execution of variations and claims.
  • Support response to client contract letter.
  • Interpreting contractual documentation and making recommendations for action
  • Preparing and coordinating scope of work documentation for quotation processes
  • Administer subcontractor agreements, including progress claims, variations, compliance, and performance monitoring in line with project requirements
  • Coordinate and manage subcontract documentation, including RFIs, TQs, site instructions, purchase orders, and contractual correspondence

What you’ll bring:
