Job summary

Alcoa Australia is seeking a Contractor Management Execution Lead to head day-to-day contractor operations at Huntly, WA. This permanent role operates on a Monday–Friday roster, overseeing field activities from pre-mining to projects and rehabilitation.

You will monitor performance against KPIs, drive corrective actions and ensure strong safety leadership with robust risk management across the site.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to lead contractor or operational performance in mining, civil or heavy industry environments.
  • Strong safety leadership and commitment to critical risk management.
  • Ability to manage contractor performance, productivity and cost outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct oversight of contractor activities across pre-mining activities, production, rehabilitation, maintenance and projects.
  • Monitor contractor performance against KPIs and drive corrective actions.
  • Coordinate contractor work with operational plans and site priorities.
  • Track productivity, cost and unit rate performance to support efficiency improvements.
  • Verify scope alignment and manage risks such as scope creep and underperformance.

About The Role

As the Contractor Management Execution Lead, based at Huntly, you will lead the day‑to‑day execution, control and performance of contractor operations across WA Mining. This is a permanent role working on a Monday to Friday roster based at our Huntly Operations

  • Provide direct oversight of contractor activities in field across pre‑mining activities, production, rehabilitation, maintenance and projects
  • Monitor contractor performance against KPIs and drive corrective actions
  • Ensure strong safety leadership and compliance with systems and critical controls
  • Coordinate contractor work with operational plans and site priorities
  • Track productivity, cost and unit rate performance to support efficiency improvements
  • Verify scope alignment and manage risks such as scope creep and underperformance

What You Can Bring To The Role
  • Proven ability to lead contractor or operational performance in mining, civil or heavy industry environments
  • Strong safety leadership and commitment to critical risk management
  • Ability to manage contractor performance, productivity and cost outcomes
  • Solid stakeholder engagement skills across operations, HSE, procurement and contractors
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to understand scope, contracts and delivery performance
  • A tertiary qualification in mining, civil, maintenance or a related discipline is desirable but not essential
  • Schedule 26 - Statutory Supervisor accreditation required.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a leadership position or have worked in a similar operation or industry to Alcoa.

About the Location

Huntly is one of our two bauxite mines in Western Australia. Established in 1976 and located east of North Dandalup in WA, it is the world’s second largest bauxite mine, supplying ore to Alcoa’s Pinjarra alumina refinery. Bauxite ore from Alcoa’s Huntly and Willowdale mines helps to produce almost half of Australia’s alumina and approximately 19 per cent of Australia’s aluminium.
