Job summary

Maribyrnong City Council is seeking a Contract and Procurement Advisor on a temporary part-time basis (19 hrs per week for 15 months) to lead end-to-end procurement and contract administration across the organisation.

Reporting to the Manager Governance and Commercial Services, you will provide expert guidance on procurement policies, ensure governance and value-for-money, and support internal stakeholders across departments. Hybrid work is available.

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement, tendering and contract administration.
• Knowledge of procurement legislation, governance principles and best practice procurement.
• Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Well-developed stakeholder engagement and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end procurement and tender processes.
• Promote understanding and provide guidance on procurement and contract management policies and procedures.
• Assist business units in development of procurement plans and identify value-for-money opportunities.
• Review standards/systems to ensure effective procurement practices and compliance with legislation and policy.
• Manage contracts with external providers against service delivery specs and performance indicators.
• Participate in tender evaluation processes and probity requirements.
• Contribute to implementation of procurement quality assurance systems including audits and training.
