Job summary

Connect One Recruitment is supporting a large ACT Government agency by recruiting an Assistant Director, Contract Management – Complex Project Delivery to join the Canberra team.

The role offers hybrid arrangements with an office in Canberra and a 12-month contract with potential extension. You will lead contract management and procurement across diverse, complex projects, ensuring governance, compliance and value-for-money outcomes.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in contract management, procurement and governance within government or highly regulated environments.
• Proven ability to coordinate contract lifecycle activities, compliance, risk management and governance.
• Strong ability to develop and maintain contract registers, dashboards and performance information with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Our client is a large Government agency who are seeking an Assistant Director, Contract Management – Complex Project Delivery to join their team in Canberra, ACT.

Role Summary

The Procurement specialist will provide specialist contract management, procurement and governance support across complex project delivery activities. The role will work closely with Program Directors, Project Managers and delivery teams to ensure effective, compliant and value-for-money procurement and contract management outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialist contract management and procurement support across multiple complex projects, including coordinating workflows, deliverables, milestones and contract lifecycle activities.
• Review and maintain contract management documentation, registers and governance records while monitoring compliance, risks, probity and legislative requirements.
• Develop reporting, dashboards, tools and guidance materials while building contract management capability and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Selection Criteria

• Demonstrated experience in contract management, procurement and governance within government, public sector or another highly regulated environment.
• Proven experience coordinating contract lifecycle activities, compliance, risk management, quality assurance and governance, ideally across complex project delivery environments.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain contract registers, dashboards, reporting and performance information, with strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
