Job summary

Temple Israel in Wynberg and Green Point seeks a skilled Sound Technician to oversee setup, live streaming, and AV management for services and events. You will work with speakers, musicians, rabbis, and staff to ensure high-quality audio and video for in-person and online audiences.

The role requires hands-on experience with OBS Studio, live mixing, multi-camera operation, and rapid problem-solving during services.

Qualifications

• Experience in sound engineering or live event production.
• Hands-on experience with OBS Studio.
• Operate and troubleshoot live sound, mixers, and mics.
• Comfortable moderating social media streams.
• Availability for Friday evenings, Saturday mornings, and Jewish holidays.

Responsibilities

• Set up AV equipment weekly, including mixer, mics, PA, and cameras.
• Operate live streaming via OBS Studio.
• Position and frame 2–3 cameras.
• Check network connectivity for streaming.
• Live mix of sound for services.
• Moderate social media comments on streams.
• Go live 10 minutes before service; adjust levels during services.
• Pack down and store equipment after services.
• Manage recordings when required.
• Close livestreams and shut down software and equipment.
