Job summary

Framestore in Australia seeks an FX TD to craft naturalistic and magical CG phenomena for high-end films. You will create particle, fluid, cloth, fur and hair simulations, applying shaders and collaborating with teams to deliver shots at the highest standard.

Available November 2026 to March 2027, you must have work rights in Australia or reside nearby. This is a short-term on-site assignment requiring close proximity to the studio.

Qualifications

• Experience creating CG FX for high-end film or episodic projects.
• Strong understanding of particle, rigid-body, fluid and cloth simulations.
• Ability to develop shaders and look development for rendered outputs.

Responsibilities

• Create particle, rigid-body, fluid, cloth, fur and/or hair simulations or animations
• Apply lighting and shaders to produce final rendered images or pass simulation to Lighting TD
• Use Maya and Houdini, plus other FX tools, to craft production-ready effects
• Collaborate with departments to ensure shots meet the highest standards
• Work within the team to design varied FX solutions for the required effects
• Develop and refine images, effects, pipelines, tools and techniques
• Produce reviewable composites of FX and sometimes final renders for shots
