Job description

Location: Sydney, NSW

Join a growing renewable energy organisation delivering complex infrastructure projects across Australia. This is an opportunity to take ownership of major commercial contracts and work closely with experienced project, engineering, legal and finance professionals.

The opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Delivery, the Contract Administrator will support the successful delivery of renewable energy projects through the negotiation, execution and administration of complex commercial agreements.

You will work across EPC, equipment supply, consultancy and service contracts, helping ensure each agreement is commercially sound, risk-aware and aligned with project requirements. You will also oversee contractor performance, administer variations and claims, and provide practical commercial guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead the development, negotiation and finalisation of EPC, equipment supply, consultancy and service agreements.
  • Ensure contracts appropriately address project scope, technical requirements, commercial objectives and risk allocation.
  • Administer contracts throughout the project lifecycle and monitor compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Track contractor performance, milestones, deliverables and commercial commitments.
  • Review and negotiate variations, claims and commercial disputes.
  • Work closely with project, construction, engineering, legal, finance and procurement teams.
  • Maintain accurate contract documentation and support contract close-out activities.
  • Identify commercial and legal risks through early review and ongoing monitoring.
  • Ensure environmental, safety, statutory and governance requirements are reflected in contractual arrangements.
  • Build productive relationships with contractors, consultants, suppliers and other delivery partners.
  • Provide commercial insights and contract guidance to senior stakeholders.
  • Support audit readiness, reporting and continuous improvement of contract-management systems.
About you

You will bring strong commercial judgement, careful attention to detail and the confidence to work with technical and senior stakeholders. You are organised, solutions-focused and comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-moving project environment.

You will ideally have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in law, construction, engineering, business or a related discipline.
  • At least three years’ contract-management experience within large-scale infrastructure, construction or energy projects.
  • Experience negotiating and administering complex EPC and related project contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, commercial risk and risk-allocation principles.
  • Experience managing variations, claims and commercial disputes.
  • Working knowledge of Australian regulatory frameworks, planning approvals and HSE requirements.
  • The ability to interpret technical specifications and engage effectively with engineering and construction teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence advising senior management and coordinating cross-functional stakeholders.
  • A genuine interest in renewable energy, sustainability and Australia’s energy transition.
  • Proficiency with standard office and contract-management systems.

Some travel to project sites, potential acquisition locations and industry events will be required.

This role offers the opportunity to work on significant renewable energy projects and influence commercial outcomes from contract development through to project completion. You will join a collaborative delivery environment where sound judgement, accountability and practical problem-solving are valued.

If you are an experienced Contract Administrator looking to apply your commercial expertise to Australia’s energy transition, we would like to hear from you.
