Job summary

NSW Health is seeking a Registered Midwife to join the Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) at Hornsby Hospital. The role focuses on continuity of care from pregnancy through postnatal, within a small team of midwives who partner with women for their entire journey.

Temporary Full Time until 4 January 2028 (with possibility of ongoing employment). The successful candidate will work 38 hours per week in a collaborative environment, providing safe, patient-centred care.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
• Recent experience and competency to practise in antenatal, labour and postnatal care.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care within a midwifery continuity of care model.
• Collaborate with patients and the multidisciplinary team to plan and evaluate maternity care.
• Participate in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation during pregnancy, labour and postnatal care.
• Demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional development and teamwork.
• Encourage inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women to access respectful care.
