Your resume and cover letter, tailored to exactly what they’re hiring for.
Collective Shift Pty Ltd is seeking a Content Operations Lead to oversee a multi-channel content calendar across YouTube, Instagram, X, LinkedIn and email. You will own the weekly calendar, posting clock, and ensure all pieces pass our quality checklist and the compliance approver before going live.
The role is based in Melbourne, with in-office presence required several days per week. You'll work closely with Ben Simpson and the in-house media team to ship content weekly and drive performance
We’re looking for someone who has already run a multi-channel content calendar and can do it again here, so that every piece we make ships on time and the only things waiting on our founder, Ben Simpson, are picking topics and hitting records.
We’re looking for someone who has already run a multi-channel content calendar and can do it again here, so that every piece we make ships on time and the only things waiting on our founder, Ben Simpson, are picking topics and hitting records.
Collective Shift is a Melbourne-based digital asset research and education company. Ben Simpson founded it in 2020 to give business owners and professionals a clear, rules-based process for investing in digital assets, with a team that invests alongside our members. We do that through our membership, our YouTube channel and The Wealth Shift podcast, and we’re now expanding into the US.
We’re building an in-house media team with a proper system behind it. Our YouTube producer, editors, thumbnail designer and X writer already make the work, and this role makes sure all of it lands in its slot, every week.
You’ll work side by side with Ben, see how a founder-led media business runs, and bring him recommendations on what to make next.
The setup is yours. Our in-house media team is new, so you’ll set up the calendar, the boards and the way we ship from the start.
You’ll own the outcome: the calendar, the posting clock, approvals and the Friday scorecard.
Your work goes out every week to business owners and investors on YouTube, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, email and the podcast.
We’re small and growing, including into the US, so you’ll see the difference your setup makes quickly.
The weekly calendar and the Asana board. You’ll run our content calendar across YouTube, Instagram, X, LinkedIn and email, working day to day with our YouTube producer, so the Monday release and everything that comes off it go out together.
The posting clock. Scheduling and posting on Australian mornings, stories, lead magnets and ManyChat keyword flows, with each keyword live within five minutes of upload.
Approvals and quality. We publish financial education content, so every piece goes through our quality checklist and our compliance approver before it goes live. You route it, chase it and make sure nothing ships without it.
The Friday scorecard. Each Friday you’ll send Ben one clear message with the numbers: what shipped, what it drove (including strategy calls booked from content) and what you recommend next.
You won’t own scripts, content strategy or ad funnels. Those sit with Ben and the rest of the team, and your job is to make sure the work ships.
Every piece ships in its slot, every week, without anyone chasing Ben.
Ben’s Monday content time is under two hours.
ManyChat keywords go live within five minutes of upload.
Nothing ships that fails the checklist, and the Friday scorecard arrives every week with real numbers.
You’ve run a multi-channel content calendar before, ideally for a finance or education brand, and can show us what you personally ran
You’re senior enough to tell a founder “not yet” when the timing’s wrong, and you come with a recommendation rather than a question
You’d rather do the work yourself than hire someone or bring in an agency to do it
You’re sharp and quick to learn, you have a proven track record in this kind of role, you’re hungry for it, and you’re coachable
You’re precise with deadlines, time zones and details, and calm when the plan changes mid-week
You want a full-time role, you’re based in Melbourne and can be in our Melbourne office at least three days a week, and you’re open to travel when needed
Nice to have: ManyChat, Asana, Customer.io, or an interest in digital assets or personal finance (we’ll teach you the subject).
You want a part-time or side role alongside other clients, you’re after a fully remote role, you’d mainly like to make the creative yourself, or you can’t point to work you ran yourself.
We want someone in Melbourne and able to meet with Ben a couple of times per week. Please do not apply if you cannot commit to this.
Here’s every step, so you know what’s ahead.
A Loom of up to 3 minutes, plus your CV. Instead of a cover letter, send your CV and a Loom introducing yourself and walking through a content calendar, pipeline or publishing operation you personally ran. Please cover the brief, how you planned, scheduled and got each piece approved, how you worked with the people making the content, the results and what you learned. Include a couple of examples you’re permitted to share, and a growth case study with your contribution, the timeframe and any enquiries, booked calls or conversions you can back up. Please also tell us the most exceptional thing you’ve ever achieved, in work or outside it. If a video isn’t workable for you for accessibility reasons, let us know and we’ll sort out another way.
A short phone call with Alice. Alice, Ben’s Executive Assistant, will call you to talk about your work and how you like to operate, and to check the basics like location and office days.
A paid challenge. We’ll ask you to do three things: design our Monday content ops meeting as a one-page agenda, build an example Asana board for one month of content, and write a one-week posting plan for Ben’s Instagram, @bensimpsonau. It’s scored on operational precision (30%), taste and quality control (25%), how well it takes Ben out of the loop (25%), and speed and clarity (20%), and the bar is that it would run without Ben chasing anything. You won’t get access to our live accounts, and you won’t need it. The challenge takes about 3 hours (if it’s running over, stop and send what you have), you can do it any time over five days, and it’s paid A$210 as a contractor, the same for every candidate.
An interview with Travis and Alice. If we like your challenge, you’ll meet Travis, our COO, and Alice.
A final interview with Ben and Travis.
References. With your OK, we call your last two managers.
Offer. If it’s a yes, we make you a full-time offer quickly.
Ben reviews every challenge himself, the day it comes in, and we reply the same day.
