Job summary

Capital Recruit is seeking an experienced APS6 communications professional to join a government agency in Canberra. The role focuses on delivering digital communications and translating complex scientific information into accessible content for diverse audiences.

You will work with the Digital Communications Manager and Outreach team to support websites, social media, e-newsletters and public publications, campaigns, media engagement and stakeholder events over a six-month contract.

Qualifications

• Proven experience developing, editing and producing engaging content across multiple digital platforms.
• Ability to translate complex scientific information for diverse audiences.
• Experience coordinating content development with communications professionals and subject matter experts.
• Strong research and analytical skills with attention to accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Draft, edit and publish engaging content across websites, social media platforms and e-newsletters.
• Support website development and the publication of web pages, blogs, news stories, feature articles and campaign content.
• Coordinate digital content production in line with communications calendars and publishing priorities.
• Manage online engagement, including e-newsletter scheduling, subscriber list maintenance and responding to social media enquiries.
• Support the delivery of communications campaigns, media and public relations activities, events and stakeholder communications.
• Research and fact-check information with subject matter experts to ensure content is accurate, accessible and engaging.
• Contribute to corporate and scientific publications, including annual reports and reviews.
• Create or source graphic and infographic assets to support digital communications.
