Job summary

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is seeking a Content Designer to join our Content Design team. You will work with Senior Content Designers and agency stakeholders to deliver accessible, user‑centred content across ACCC websites and newsletters.

You will edit, proof and publish content, ensure readability standards, and support a busy inbox while collaborating with teams to keep information accurate and engaging.

Qualifications

• Sound writing, editing and proofreading skills.
• Experience with website and digital publishing using a CMS.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow content design principles and style guides.
• Understanding of WCAG accessibility and plain language.
• Ability to propose user‑focused content solutions for websites and digital channels.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration with team and stakeholders.
• Ability to troubleshoot and edit in HTML.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines.
• Desirable: tertiary qualification in communications or editing.
• Desirable: knowledge of Drupal CMS and newsletter platforms.

Responsibilities

• Edit, proof and write content for website and digital platforms.
• Design and publish content that meets style, accessibility and readability standards and content design patterns.
• Support the management of a busy inbox and action requests from line areas.
• Review, draft and publish content on ACCC websites and newsletters.
• Engage with stakeholders to ensure content is accurate, relevant and easy to understand.
• Follow established processes and contribute to an effective and collaborative team.
