Job summary

Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) is seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join its expanding Mental Health and Wellbeing Service in Gippsland, Victoria. This permanent appointment includes relocation support and multidisciplinary teamwork.

You will provide specialist assessments, lead clinical work, and participate in service development, audit, and education within LRH's regional care network.

Qualifications

• MRCPsych or FRANZCP or equivalent specialist qualification
• Eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
• Demonstrated senior-level psychiatric experience
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and colleagues
• Commitment to clinical governance and quality improvement
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary mental health team

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist psychiatric assessment and treatment across inpatient, community, and crisis settings
• Deliver clinical leadership and supervision of junior medical staff and trainees
• Collaborate with internal and external partners for comprehensive care
• Contribute to service development and model-of-care improvements
• Engage in audit, quality improvement, and clinical governance activities
• Support education and research within the Mental Health and Wellbeing Service
