Job summary

Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) is seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join its expanding Mental Health and Wellbeing Service in Gippsland, Victoria. This permanent appointment includes relocation support and multidisciplinary teamwork.

You will provide specialist assessments, lead clinical work, and participate in service development, audit, and education within LRH's regional care network.

Qualifications

• MRCPsych or FRANZCP or equivalent specialist qualification
• Eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
• Demonstrated senior-level psychiatric experience

About the Role

As a Consultant Psychiatrist at LRH, you will play a central role in delivering high-quality mental health care across a diverse regional population. You will work within a supportive, collaborative team of psychiatrists, registrars, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and allied health professionals.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing specialist psychiatric assessment and treatment across inpatient, community, and crisis settings.
• Clinical leadership and supervision of junior medical staff, trainees, and multidisciplinary colleagues.

• Active participation in service development, including model-of-care improvements and strategic planning.
