Darwin NT / Remote AustraliaFull Time$150,000 – $200,000 + Travel & Project Allowances

About GenOffGrid

At GenOffGrid, we’re transforming how remote Australia is powered.

Our mission is to dramatically reduce diesel consumption through innovative solar, battery energy storage and hybrid power solutions that deliver reliable, cost-effective power to remote communities, businesses and critical infrastructure.

As a specialist renewable energy EPC contractor, we design, build and maintain solar, battery and hybrid power systems across some of Australia’s most challenging and remote environments.

As our business grows, we are continuing to expand beyond EPC delivery and explore opportunities to develop and operate renewable energy assets.

We’re seeking experienced leaders who want to play a key role in that journey and help shape the future direction of the company.

About the Role

We’re looking for a leader, not just a supervisor.

This is a hands‑on site leadership role responsible for managing all civil and mechanical construction activities associated with our renewable energy projects.

You will lead site crews, subcontractors, labour hire personnel and plant resources throughout the construction phase, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards before handover to our electrical installation and commissioning teams.

This role is ideal for an experienced construction leader who enjoys being in the field, takes ownership of outcomes and is looking for genuine long‑term career growth within a rapidly expanding renewable energy company.

Key ResponsibilitiesConstruction Leadership

  • Lead all site-based construction activities from mobilisation through to handover.
  • Coordinate labour hire personnel, subcontractors and specialist contractors.
  • Manage site resources, construction sequencing and daily work plans.
  • Drive project productivity and achieve key construction milestones.
  • Conduct toolbox meetings, pre-starts and safety briefings.
  • Foster a strong culture focused on safety, accountability and quality.
  • Build positive relationships with clients, subcontractors and project stakeholders.

Civil & Mechanical Construction

  • Supervise trenching, excavation and earthworks activities.
  • Coordinate installation of pits, conduits and underground services.
  • Manage cable route preparation and cable pulling activities.
  • Oversee pile driving and foundation installation works.
  • Coordinate Surefoot foundation installations where applicable.
  • Supervise solar racking and structural steel assembly.
  • Manage solar module installation activities.
  • Coordinate cable tray installation and associated support structures.
  • Manage lifting operations involving cranes, telehandlers and forklifts.
  • Coordinate material deliveries, site logistics and construction resources.

Project Delivery & Quality

  • Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements.
  • Maintain construction quality assurance processes and documentation.
  • Monitor project schedules, construction progress and workforce productivity.
  • Coordinate inspections and close‑out activities.
  • Prepare projects for electrical fit‑off, testing and commissioning.
  • Support successful project completion and client handover.
About You

You are a practical construction leader who enjoys being on site, driving outcomes and leading teams.

You understand how to coordinate multiple work fronts, manage subcontractors and maintain project momentum while delivering safe, high‑quality results.

We are more interested in demonstrated leadership, construction delivery experience and the ability to drive project outcomes than formal qualifications.
