Job summary

BY Group is seeking a Safety Advisor to oversee workplace health and safety across multiple active construction projects in NSW. You will ensure works comply with legislative requirements, contractual obligations, and BY Group’s WHS systems, while actively promoting a strong safety culture on site.

You will conduct site audits, lead incident investigations, develop WHS documentation, and coach teams to meet obligations.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years' experience in a WHS role within the construction industry.
• Experience across commercial, industrial or large-scale building projects.
• Experience managing WHS requirements across multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations and construction safety requirements.
• Experience conducting site safety audits and risk assessments.
• Experience conducting incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Proficiency with WHS management software, particularly HammerTech.

Responsibilities

• Actively communicate WHS information to project teams and support safety obligations.
• Manage WHS requirements across multiple active construction projects.
• Ensure works align with contractual requirements, legislation and company policies.
• Maintain compliance with BY Group's WHS and IMS.
• Complete site safety audits, inspections and risk assessments.
• Serve as the primary day-to-day WHS contact for projects.
• Develop, review and implement WHS policies and documents.
• Provide recommendations to senior management on WHS improvements.
• Coach employees on WHS responsibilities and support site teams.
• Ensure safety training requirements are met and identify training needs.
• Conduct or coordinate incident investigations and preventative actions.
• Promote a safe working environment and lead by example.
• Liaise with auditors and external parties for accreditations and compliance.
• Coordinate rehabilitation and return-to-work programs when required.
• Assist project teams with SOPs and ensure documentation is current.
• Maintain WHS records and documentation through HammerTech.
