Job summary

Brisbane City Council is seeking Building and Construction Liaison Officers in City Planning and Economic Development Services. This field‑based role engages with construction sites, stakeholders and the community to achieve positive development outcomes across Brisbane.

You will foster relationships, identify issues and support approvals while minimising noise, dust and disruption. A C Class Drivers Licence is required; employment is temporary full‑time up to 12 months.

Qualifications

• Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to build effective relationships.
• Clear communication skills and confidence working with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation and approvals.
• Sound evaluation, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Proactively monitoring development sites to ensure conformance with approvals and conditions.
• Coordinate activities with internal stakeholders to deliver positive development outcomes across Brisbane.
• Build and maintain relationships with contractors, residents and stakeholders.
• Manage and resolve customer enquiries relating to construction impacts.
• Conduct site inspections and prepare clear reports and documentation.
• Apply legislation, policies and procedures contributing to process improvement.
